Heroes and rebels

Heroes and rebels are common defined as opposites in the dictionary; the first have a good connotation and the other have a negative connotation. The hero is normally represented as a tall, beauty and smart person, with big muscles and big heart. We have Prince Charming inside all princess stories. The most famous one is the Sleeping-Beauty story; his prince is very good-looking and strong as any bad guy of the story.
Otherwise, rebels have ugly physiognomy and are bag looking, they have malefic ideas and are always the opposite from the good guy or hero. They don’t care about other peoples and are always doing something wrong.
But, in one hand, we have this definition of Heroes and Rebels, of good and evil, opposites and enemies, in the other hand we have heroes who for the society’s eyes are rebels; we have the example of Curt Cobain, a musician who was drugged and done a lot of “bad” thing, influenced people and didn’t wanted to obey to rules and laws, anyway for many he is a hero and a leader. So much as Martin Luther King, who is a revolutionary, he gave more power to the black people, but he disobeyed some rules and in some way he was a rebel.
We can be heroes and be rebels at the same time, there is just a question of what do you do. We have to distinguish the fairytale heroes and rebels from reality heroes and rebels, which sometimes you have to be one to be the other.

Full Metal Alchemist

Full Metal Alchemist is a Japanese anime. The story about the Elric Brothers, who’s lost their bodies doing a Human transmutation to resuscitate their mother, is told in this anime. They live in a different world; in this world they can use alchemy, a chemistry principle which existed between the XVI century and the XVIII century. The alchemists though they could transmute plumb into gold, but one day they realized that was impossible. In this anime, they can transmute everything by the equivalent exchange, with the principle of using what you have; you cannot create or destroy something without doing another thing with the material you used. Edward, who loosed a leg and an arm; and Alphonse, who loosed all his body and had his soul fixed in a warrior armor by his brother. They search the Philosopher’s Stone. With this Stone you can use alchemy without having to obey to the equivalent exchange principle, by this way they want to recover their bodies. It is a very interesting idea of anime, there are more details, but for now I´m going to tell only this. Watch it if you can .

Jamie Cullum

Jamie Cullum is an English pop and jazz-pop singer-songwritr and pianist. He have 4 CDs already. Which names reflect in some way the containing of it, like his first CD “Pointless Nostalgic” which is the saddest one he did. There are always covers of other musicians, but a version made by him. I think if we put the CDs side by side, we can see a “degradée” of style and feeling, with the first CD “Pointless Nostalgic” we see a very heavy feeling he cares, then in “Twenty Something“there are music a little more agitated and less sad, finally in his third CD we have a another change of humor, he seems happier, in his new CD which is upcoming now at the beginning of November “The Pursuit”, gives the promise to be happier than all others. I don’t understand this, but I think it’s really cool. He never looses his style, voice and presence on the music; his lyrics are all very well written, his harmonies are well though and his voice is really perfect for Jazz style.

Avez-vous deja vu?

”Avez-vous déjà vu?” is a computer made cartoon of about fifty seconds each. The sketches are made by Alain Chabat with the help of other peoples. These little cartoons are very thoughtful and sometimes satiric with our daily life. In this sketch “Avez-vous déjà vu: une torture d’oeuf?” we have an egg who is being tortured by a hand with a metal spoon. It is in a egg-mug and we was boiled before being put in the mug. A voice is saying “you know what we want to know” and the egg only says “produced xx/xx, to consume before xx/xx”. The voice insists and then cracks the eggs head, the egg get nervous and starts saying faster and faster his produce/consume date. The hand starts to menace the egg by putting one slice of bread in his head. And them the Egg finally cracks and says “It’s the chicken, it’s the chicken that comes first, not the egg” and then the voice says “is all we wanted to now. Was it so difficult?” .

THE bass player

Jaco Pastorius is the greatest bass player who already existed. He lived between the fifty’s and the eighty’s, born December 1^st 1951, and died the 21 September 1987 of being spanked by a security guy of a bar. He was an american musician and composer widely acknowledged for his skills as an electric bass player, he composed musics as: The Chicken; Donna Lee (cover for bass); Come on Come Over; Birdland. He played as well in the Weather Repport jazz band and in his Big Band of his own. He is the biggest inspiration to most of the basist because he have too much to tell and we’ve got too much to learn. He is my biggest inspiration and I would like to have a big band too, jazz is such a good music.

Dexter drama TV series

Dexter is a drama TV series, made by Jeff Lindsay about a blood spatter analyst who works for MMP (Miami Metropolitan Police), but he is not just a police guy, he is have a secondary life: he is a serial killer. He is not just a random dude who goes outdoor and kills people, he have a history for why he do this. His adoptive-father was a cop officer too, Henry (his father) found Dexter in a container supposed to catch in the act some drug dealers, but when the police opened the container, they found Dexter sit in a pool of blood. Henry adopted Dexter that day, and he lived with Henry, his wife and his new sister Debra. He grow up and star feeling a necessity to kill people, and his father create a code to let him kill people, but only guilty people who have killed someone unnecessarily and to no one get him, it is a methodical way to kill and not get caught. It is a very interesting series, I will talk more about it next week, see ya .
